After graduation he began to attend West Texas A&M University. However, after completing his core requirements he still was unsure of what major to choose. So rather than continue aimlessly through college he pursued another interest... the US Army.
Joining the Army was definitely a different experience compared to college. He was up at the crack of dawn, and many times much earlier. After infantry basic training it was on to Airborne school followed by the Ranger Indoctrination Program. After completion of those courses he joined the 75th Ranger Regiment for the remainder of his time in the Army.
After the Rangers it was back to college at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!). There he complete a bachelors degree in business with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. During school he worked as a salesman and ran his own online store selling rifle optics. As graduation neared it looked like the plan was to move to Tulsa and continuing to pursue his business interests. However, the best laid plans of mice and men are often changed.
Right before graduation James felt like God was moving him in another direction, moving him all the way to Eastern Asia. James spent 2 years in Asia working on the languages, working on learning the culture, and mostly on sharing the hope that he has in Jesus with them.
He returned to American in 2008 and married a young lady he met in Asia who was doing the same thing he was doing.
James and Jill now live in Oklahoma City where she does refugee resettlement, and he helps people buy and sell homes. The best service you or your freinds will ever receive!
